What is Life-on-Life Missional Discipleship (LOLMD)?

Life-on-life missional discipleship is laboring in the lives of a few with the intention of imparting one's life, the gospel and God's Word in such a way as to see them become mature and equipped followers of Christ, committed to doing the same in the lives of others.

In Matthew 28, Jesus calls His followers to make disciples of all nations and promises His presence as they go. In the book of Acts, we see a wonderful picture of the outworking of that calling. We see the Apostles as well as other Christians making disciples and investing their lives in these new believers in order to bring them towards maturity in Christ.

They continued to follow Jesus' model of discipling a few men (see 2 Timothy 2:1-2 and 1 Thessalonians 2:8). Sadly, following Jesus' model of investing deeply in a few has mostly become relegated to a few para-church ministries and has been often neglected in the church at large often in favor of programs.

Our goal is not to help churches add another program to their list of offerings, but as we look to Jesus the ultimate disciple-maker as our model, we desire to help create discipling movements within churches worldwide to bring people towards maturity for the glory of God.

Life-on-life missional discipleship is based on how Jesus did ministry. Jesus invested his life in the disciples to develop them into mature and equipped followers, and we believe as a part of the great commission we are commanded to do the same.

From experience we have seen that life-on-life missional discipleship is the most effective way to develop mature and equipped followers of Christ. life-on-life missional discipleship consistently develops leaders who can lead themselves & their families, develop other mature and equipped followers of Christ, and have a transformational impact on the lost world.

Life-on-life missional discipleship is not a church program, a curriculum, or a quick solution.

Getting started both personally and in your church with life-on-life missional discipleship will take a relational process and perseverance, but we believe following Jesus' model of ministry is the most dynamic and impactful way to build the Kingdom.
